“Fibonacci in The Light” is a painting depicting a flower with clearly visible Fibonacci spirals. Fibonacci was an Italian mathematician born in 1175 who lived in the Republic of Pisa. He advocated the use of our current numerals 0-9 and wrote about the Fibonacci sequence of numbers where the next number is the sum of the previous two : 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144…and so on. This sequence has close relationship to the Golden Ratio. Many plants exhibit Fibonacci spirals (13 in one direction, next to 21 in the other).
