We have all witnessed the unprecedented flooding and devastation in the Houston area this past week as Hurricane Harvey passed over Southeast Texas. The storm remained nearly stationary for several days causing severe damage and loss of life. Many people lost their homes. The people there need our help and support.
The H-E-B Grocery Company operates in over 150 local Texas communities. In their own words: “Providing aid in times of need is the cornerstone of H‑E‑B’s Helping Here philosophy, which promises to stand by communities during times of crisis. For more than 100 years, the company has demonstrated its commitment to communities in crisis by donating financial support, emergency supplies, drinking water and food, as well as providing efficient ways for customers to assist those affected by a natural disaster.”
They have emergency response teams, a mobile food truck and mobile pharmacy currently assisting hundreds of people in the Houston area. I encourage the readership to donate on their page as they continue to assist the victims of Hurricane Harvey. 100% of the donations will be distributed to the American Red Cross, area Texas Food Banks, Salvation Army and Texas Search and Rescue/Cajun Navy.
Thank you kindly,
